Rory Avis-Foster

Director & Principal Architect

Rory brings a steady, focused energy to every project at AvisFoster Collective. Raised in the country, he developed a practical, grounded mindset early on. One that shows up in the way he works: calm under pressure, clear-headed in complexity, and always thinking a few steps ahead.

He’s the kind of person who spots issues before they turn into real problems and quietly solves them without the drama. Clients value his ability to navigate the trickier parts of a project while keeping things on track, on budget, and straightforward.

Rory leads with honesty and practicality. He’s a big believer in clear, open communication that keeps everyone on the same page. Over the years, he’s earned a reputation for designing homes and additions that strike just the right balance;  practical where they need to be, beautiful where it counts.

Rory’s involved in every corner of the collective and is always up for exploring new ideas or approaching things in a different way. He’s here to help shape your vision, not push his own.

When he’s not collaborating, on site or designing at his desk, Rory’s probably giving back to the next generation as a tutor. Or being taken for a walk by Jensen, his Mini Dachshund (aka resident barkitect) who’s convinced he’s the one running the show.
